About WestchesterLAX.Com:
We’re biased.
All Web sites are biased in some way, so we might as well be up front about
it. The important thing to consider is how we are biased. WestchesterLAX.com
naturally enough, is focused on the Westchester, California (ZIP codes 90045
and 90094) area that includes the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as
well as the master planned community named Playa Vista.
We convey the interests of the people who live and work here. We also consider
the needs of the college and university students and share useful information
with people who pass through the area via LAX. While the ‘locals’
may well be more interested in what’s going on with the West Bluffs, pretty
much everyone wants to know with which restaurants are worth the money.
Directory Listings are limited to businesses and entities that demonstrate
an intuitively obvious connection to this particular area. We consider that
some types of information are geographically tied to a specific place; this
is built into the Directory.
WestchesterLAX.com does not allow “Adult” (pornographic or sexually
explicit) ads or Directory listings. Hate, Hackers, Scum, Spam, Get-Rick-Quick
Schemes and the like are not accepted either. Humans review every single ad
and Directory listing. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. That’s
part of the beauty of niche sites; we don’t try to be all things to all
people.
The staff of WestchesterLAX.com writes with a point of view.
There are real people at the other end of the computer screen and their personalities
seep out from behind the letters. Humor and writing with personality is encouraged.
You may find yourself laughing out loud or, perhaps, disagreeing with the writers.
Fair enough.
Curiously, during the interview and hiring process each of the writers asked
(in one form or another), “Can I say what I want to say? Or is there a
company line that I have to follow?” They write as they like, provided
that they have a solid logic-based argument to make.
The writers are all on the content side of the office. This isn’t the
LA Times; our writers are not Staples to the business side of the office.
